CBS Sports enjoyed a record-breaking week of Champions League viewing figures thanks to the competition's thrilling quarterfinals.

Led by the popular broadcast team of Kate Abdo, Jamie Carragher, Thierry Henry and Micah Richards, Real Madrid's thrilling win over Manchester City on penalties was the most-watched quarter-final of all time on the network. 

The game at the Etihad Stadium drew 1.11 million viewers, which represented a 25 per cent increase in comparison to last year's quarterfinals.

A peak audience of 1.58 million tuned in to watch Antonio Rudiger fire home the winning penalty and send Pep Guardiola's reigning champions out.

Meanwhile, audiences also flocked to Paramount+ as the streaming platform enjoyed its most-streamed soccer match ever with double-digit growth in both households and streaming minutes compared to last season's final.

Paramount+ also enjoyed its most-streamed day of soccer ever with Arsenal's defeat by Bayern Munich taking place on the same day as Madrid's win over Man City. 

CBS' Champions League broadcasts have proven to be a hit with audiences thanks to the jovial on-set relationship between Abdo and the three pundits. 

They will return later this month when the semi-finals get underway on April 30 and May 1 with the second legs scheduled for May 7 and May 8.

Real Madrid and Bayern Munich's reward for beating Premier League heavyweights Man City and Arsenal, respectively, is to play each other.

In the other semifinal, Paris Saint-Germain will take on Borussia Dortmund after they beat Spanish giants Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.
