Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri is adamant that Alvaro Morata will stay put at the Old Lady, amid reports of Barcelona's potential interest in acquiring his services.

The Italian tactician also recalled the 21 goals scored by the Spain international last season and stressed that Morata has found the net seven times this year from set pieces.

"Alvaro is an important player and I am happy [with him]," Allegri saud at a press conference.

"I have spoken with him and told him that he is not leaving, despite the rumours, so he is looking forward to it. Case closed."

This is Morata's second spell at Juventus, where he first plied his trade between 2014 and 2016. He returned to Italy in 2020, when the Old Lady signed Morata on loan from Atletico Madrid in exchange for 10 million euros.

Juventus failed to win Serie A last season, but they managed to clinch both the Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa Italiana.
