Vinicius had a running battle with the Barcelona players throughout El Clasico on Sunday evening, especially centre-backs Eric Garcia and Gerard Pique. The Brazilian had a clear opportunity to equalise in the first half, but appeared to dive over Marc-Andre ter Stegen's challenge and this earned him the wrath of the Blaugrana defenders.

He could be seen speaking to Pique throughout the match, as the pair clashed then and on a number of other occasions.

Meanwhile, Eric Garcia looked to stir up Vinicius' anger, as the Movistar cameras showed the Barcelona defender mocking him during the match.

"You next year for the Ballon d'Or, yes, the Ballon d'Or," the young defender was seen saying to the Real Madrid winger.

Xavi Hernandez was also seen speaking to Vinicius on the touchline during the game. The Brazilian was supposed to be Real Madrid's greatest threat without Karim Benzema, but it was a difficult night all round for the capital city club.
