The transfer fees of the defender are set at 50 million fixed and 12.5 million in variables, which would be 2.5 million per season if he plays 60% of the games.
FC Barcelona presented Jules Koundé this morning, their fifth signing of the season and a player that Xavi Hernández had insisted for. Negotiations with Sevilla went by fairly quickly but the final transfer figures confirm that the operation was a major one.
According to the program 'Què t'hi jugues' of Cadena Ser, Barça will finally pay 50 million euros to Sevilla and 12.5 in variables, which would be 2.5 million per season if he plays 60% of the matches. The defender will most likely end up costing 62.5 million euros.
Koundé will earn 9.5 million euros as wages in the first season and 12 million for the remaining four, apart from a signing bonus of 2 million euros. Along with the appearances linked variable, there's one for titles adding a further one million euros to the sum.
Chelsea had offered him much higher wages, so despite having to settle for a lesser package, Koundé has made a significant effort to become a Barça player.
