Paris Saint-Germain no longer lead Group A of the 2021/22 Champions League, with their 2-2 draw at RB Leipzig costing them top spot and handing it back to Manchester City. Although Georginio Wijnaldum's first two goals for the club saw PSG come from behind after Christopher Nkunku's early header, a late penalty allowed Dominik Szoboszlai to make it a 2-2 final score.

RB Leipzig were good in this game and scored just a few minutes when the excellent Nkunku headed past Gianluigi Donnarumma, but the Italian goalkeeper then kept his side in the game by saving an Andre Silva penalty.

Wijnaldum then scored his first PSG goal in the 21st minute and then his second in the 39th minute, with VAR having to intervene for the latter to show that the Dutchman had, in fact, been onside.

PSG conceded a few clear chances in the second half, with Szoboszlai having one of them. But, the visitors looked like they would take the three points despite living dangerously.

However, VAR was involved again in the final moments of normal time, pointing out that Presnel Kimpembe had ever so clumsily impeded Nkunku from jumping for a cross. A spot kick was awarded and Szoboszlai was able to beat Donnarumma to make it a 2-2 final score.
