Sheriff Tiraspol's victory against Real Madrid was one of the biggest shocks in Champions League history, and the hero of the evening, Sebastian Thill, has admitted that he has already watched his winning goal at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu over 100 times.
It was a strike of pure beauty, a half-volley hit from 25 yards out with the outside of Thill's left boot, the kind of strike that you get right once in a lifetime, and it just so happened that this took place for Thill on the biggest stage he will ever play on.
"A lot of my friends have posted the video on the internet, so I see it whenever I pick up the phone, I've watched it more than 100 times so far," Thill explained in an interview with BBC World Service."
"With all this, since Luxembourg is a small country, maybe more people now know who I am.
"It is an amazing goal, it is the most beautiful and important one of my career, when we are children we all dream of playing against the greatest team in the Champions League, and when you do you don't realise it, at first I didn't even realise I'd scored the winning goal at the Bernabeu."
