Chelsea defender Matt Miazga set for return to the United States to play for FC Cincinnati... after six years abroad and FIVE loan moves

Matt Miazga is in talks over a move back to the United States to join FC Cincinnati after playing just twice in his six years at Chelsea.
A veteran of Chelsea's infamous 'loan army', the New Jersey native only played two official matches for his parent club during the 2016 season, before being loaned to five different clubs between 2016 and 2022.
Miazga spent two years in the Netherlands on loan with Vitesse, where he'd help the club win the KNVB Cup in the 2016-17 season.

Following that, he took a tour across Europe, playing in France, Belgium, and Spain as well as in the EFL Championship.
Whilst abroad, Miazga picked up 22 caps for the United States Men's National Team, but hasn't appeared since a March 28th, 2021 match against Northern Ireland.
He moves back to the United States to an FC Cincinnati squad that's fighting for the final spot in the MLS Cup Playoffs.
Currently, the team is sitting on 29 points having played 23 matches, which has them in 9th and two spots outside the playoffs.
With 12 matches remaining in the regular season, the acquisition of Miazga could be exactly what is required to cure a Cincinnati defense that's allowed the third most goals in the league.
