Borussia Dortmund full-back Marius Wolf has issued a response to a viral video of a spectator stealing a shirt from a fellow fan in a wheelchair at the Signal Iduna Park on Tuesday.

The incident came after Dortmund produced a sensational comeback to turn around a 2-1 deficit and beat Atletico Madrid 5-4 on aggregate to advance to the Champions League semi-finals.

After the match Julian Brandt, who had scored the opener for the Bundesliga side, was seen giving his shirt to a member of the audience who was in a wheelchair.

Seconds later, the kit was snatched out of the clutches of the fan by another member of the crowd, who appeared to wave the shirt to the fan before walking away grinning.

While Brandt seemed unaware that the incident had taken place, the man who had taken the shirt was followed by another member of the crowd, seemingly an associate of the spectator in the wheelchair.

The video, which, has sparked anger among many fans online, has now caught the attention of Wolf, who took to X (formerly Twitter) to reassure fans that the situation would be sorted.

The Dortmund defender wrote in response to the video: 'Wird geklärt' with a 'smiling face' emoji, which translates from German to 'It will be clarified.'

Despite that, many fans on social media blasted the actions of the fan who stole the football shirt, with some claiming they should receive a lifetime ban.

'When you're the biggest a*****e among 81,000 people. Snatch Brandt's gift from a wheelchair user. Lifetime stadium ban, please.'

Brandt put the hosts ahead, belting the ball past the inside post with a clinical finish in the 34th minute. Chelsea loanee Ian Maatsen would double their lead not five minutes later with his first-ever Champions League goal.

Atletico hit back thanks to an own goal from Matts Hummels, before Angel Correa capitalised off a lucky rebound, to put the visitors 3-2 ahead on aggregate.

Despite that, Niclas Fullkrug and Marcel Sabitzer hit back in the 71st and 72nd minute to seal a 4-2 victory for the home side and a 5-4 win on aggregate - securing their berth in the semi-finals of the tournament.

Maatsen delivered a pointed message to Mauricio Pochettino and his parent club Chelsea after scoring his debut Champions League goal.
