Sunday, August 29, is likely to see Lionel Messi make his Paris Saint-Germain debut away to Reims in Ligue 1's fourth matchday. So far, they've fared just fine without him and have beaten Troyes, Strasbourg and Brest in their opening three matches.
Now, after 15 days of working under Mauricio Pochettino, Messi will be called upon by his coach. There are, though, questions that still remain unanswered ahead of the Argentine's first PSG appearance: how long will he play? Will he start? Will he play up front or out wide?
Will Messi start on the bench for PSG?
It's most likely that Messi's debut will come as a substitute. He hasn't played since the Copa America and had extended holidays after conquering South America with Argentina. It's probable that he'll play at least 30 minutes in the second half.
Will Messi play as a striker for PSG?
What appears most likely is that Pochettino will put Messi out right, Neymar on the left and Kylian Mbappe - despite nearing a move to Real Madrid - will play in the centre.
Mauro Icardi is currently injured, so it's not impossible that Messi could play centrally. There are still a lot of options for Pochettino to choose between.
