Premier League sides have once again spent big in the summer transfer window strengthening all over the pitch, particularly up front.

Stars like Erling Haaland and Darwin Nunez will make their debuts in the English topflight, while forwards such as Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Jesus and Richarlison have changed teams and have plenty to prove.

Established strikers meanwhile such as Mohamed Salah, Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son will all be highly motivated to get among the goals making the race to be the Premier League's top scorer more competitive than ever.

Premier League top goal scorer latest odds

In his first ever Premier League campaign, Erling Haaland is rated as the most likely player to end the season with the most goals.

The Norwegian's numbers are extraordinary, Haaland netted 62 Bundesliga goals in 59 appearances in the Bundesliga, making him one of the most highly rated forwards on the planet.

Placing the 22-year-old in a team that is likely to create numerous chances should be a recipe for success and Haaland leads the top goal scorer market at 3/1 (4.00).

There are often question marks over players who move to the Premier League from Europe, but there seems little doubt that Haaland looks set to excel without the need for an adjustment period.

Next in the betting comes Mohamed Salah who ended last season as the joint most prolific player in the division with 23 strikes, one better than his tally from the 2020/21 campaign.

The Egyptian is offered at 9/2 (5.50) and those odds are reflective of what a goal scoring force Salah has been in the Premier League, with the Liverpool forward ending the season as top scorer in three of the last five years.

Spurs striker Harry Kane comes in at 6/1 (7.00) with the England captain having won this award on three previous occasions, and well placed to challenge once again.

Next there is a jump in the betting to Liverpool newcomer Darwin Nunez at 12/1 (13.00), who is the same price as Heung-Min Son and ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo at 14/1 (15.00) and Gabriel Jesus at 16/1 (17.00).

Premier League top goal scorer value bets

While the Premier League top goal scorer award is generally won by one of the most-fancied strikers, there are occasions where an unexpected player wins it such as Jamie Vardy in 2020 or Yaya Toure in 2014.

Indeed, Vardy is priced at 33/1 (34.00) to repeat his recent achievement but there could be more value in backing Raheem Sterling at the same price.

The England forward is likely to be the main goal threat for new club Chelsea and has comfortably been in double figures for goals in each of the last five seasons.

Further down the betting comes Kevin De Bruyne at 40/1 (41.00) and the Belgian international could be an interesting each way bet.

An each-way selection offers a quarter of the odds for the player to finish in the top four goal scorers and historically a total of between 17 and 20 goals has been enough to get among the top four strikers. Last season De Bruyne netted 15 times, which could potentially make him a shrewd selection, although it remains to be seen how many City goals are hoovered up by Haaland.

Perhaps a better option is looking at someone like Anthony Martial at Manchester United who is available at 80/1 (81.00).

The Frenchman had an unsuccessful loan spell in La Liga at Sevilla in the second half of last season, where he was extremely underwhelming failing to score in his nine league appearances, dropping down the pecking order and not playing as much as he would have liked.

Now, he is back in Manchester with plenty to prove. His form in pre-season has been impressive and it is worth remembering Martial netted 17 league goals in the 2019/20 campaign.
