Phil Foden has agreed a new long-term contract at Manchester City - worth around £225,000-a-week.
Sportsmail understands there has been a long-awaited breakthrough on a deal which will make the 22-year-old one of the highest-paid youngsters on the planet and see him increase his salary by more than seven times.
An offer had been on the table for a number of months but bosses at the Etihad Stadium are delighted with what they feel is a significant boost ahead of the new season.

An announcement on what is likely to be a six-year agreement, which will keep Foden at the club for the foreseeable future and beyond, is expected in the coming days or early next week.
A homegrown star, Stockport-born Foden, 22, excelled last season for both club and country and is the poster boy for City’s academy.
The new deal dwarfs the basic £30,000-a-week contract he signed in 2018 and will be more reflective of a player expected to enjoy a substantial amount of first team football for Pep Guardiola in the forthcoming campaign.
Guardiola recently singled out Foden and Kevin De Bruyne for praise in a recent interview
Foden was at Wembley on Sunday to watch the Lionesses defeat Germany 2-1 to win the women's Euro 2022
It will also come as a boost for England manager Gareth Southgate, with Foden allowed to focus on his football ahead of the winter World Cup.
On Sunday, Foden watched on with England team-mate Mason Mount as the Lionesses won the Euro 2022 Final at Wembley.
