Tottenham fans rejoice in Kane and Dier helping to eliminate Arsenal

Harry Kane has so often been the scourge of Arsenal during his time in the Premier League, and his goal in the first-leg at the Emirates is part of the reason why Bayern Munich are in the semi-finals.

As is the excellent defensive displays of Eric Dier who was Man of the Match on Wednesday night.

Tottenham fans will have relished seeing two of their former stars end the European dreams of their bitter rivals.

Though last night's results didn't provide all good news for Tottenham...

The moment that ended City's Double Treble dreams

Saka mistake 'summed up' Arsenal

Arsenal legend Martin Keown insisted the Gunners 'didn't lay a glove' on Bayern Munich in Wednesday night's second leg at the Allianz Arena.

Since the turn of the year, the Gunners have been full of attacking flair and scoring goals for fun.

But after a promising first-half, the Gunners were disappointing in the second, and Keown believes that one moment in extra-time summed up a bad night for Mikel Arteta's men.

And what about Arsenal?

Arsenal fans were confident going into their tie with Bayern Munich - with the Gunners a far better side than the one that lost 10-2 on aggregate to the Germans the last time they were in the Champions League.

While Bayern Munich are perhaps the weakest they've been in many a year.

However, their European experience paid off as they taught the young talented Gunners a lesson across the two legs.

Did Man City fans cost their own team?

How things looked so promising for Pep Guardiola's side when Luka Modric's missed penalty gave Manchester City an early advantage.

However, that didn't last for long as Modric booted the ball into the crowd in frustration and Bernardo Silva was left waiting to take his penalty as City fans took their time in returning it to the pitch.

What followed was a dreadful penalty by the Portuguese midfielder as he kicked it straight into the hands of Andriy Lunin.

You have to wonder what effect that delay had on Silva before his costly miss.

City defeat spells bad news for Arsenal and Liverpool

Until last night, Manchester City were on their way to accomplishing something that no Premier League side has done - a Double Treble.

But their penalty shootout loss to Real Madrid showed why it is something that has not been accomplished till this day, as despite their overwhelming superiority in terms of chances, they weren't able to put the Spanish giants away.

Oliver Holt writes on Mail+ how bad news for Manchester City in Europe, could spell worse news for Arsenal and Liverpool when it comes to the Premier League title fight.
