Liverpool's Premier League title ambitions have been given a huge boost as four key players returned to first-team training on Tuesday afternoon.

The Reds are reeling from dropping points in Sunday's 2-2 draw against Man United as Liverpool were unusually wasteful in front of goal at Old Trafford.

Jurgen Klopp is now getting his side ready for Thursday's Europa League first-leg quarter-final clash against Atalanta and four previously injured stars were seen back out on the grass for the first time.

Diogo Jota, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Stefan Bajcetic and goalkeeper Alisson all took part in training after going through recovery plans over the past weeks and months.

Each took part in a full session with the rest of their Liverpool team-mates and came through unscathed as Klopp put his team through their paces ahead of their upcoming midweek clash at Anfield.

Alisson joined back-up goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher - who has now played more games than the Brazilian this season - in separate goalkeeping drills at the club's AXA training campus.

The 31-year-old looked comfortable in diving between the posts and throwing the ball out during goalkeeping exercises, with him expected to come straight back into starting contention ahead of the end of season run-in.

His last appearance came in Liverpool's 3-1 defeat at fellow Premier League challengers Arsenal at the start of February after which he suffered a long-term hamstring injury.

Meanwhile, Trent Alexander-Arnold beamed as he joined in with Liverpool's other stars being put through defensive and attacking drills.

The Reds vice-captain was also pulled aside for a separate chat with Klopp who has had to find a way to survive in recent Premier League encounters without the versatile England international.

Alexander-Arnold aggravated an existing knee complaint against Burnley on February 10 and has been desperate to be back available for selection.

Portuguese winger, Jota, similarly looked delighted to be back amongst his colleagues as he worked closely with Mohamed Salah during attacking drills on Tuesday.

Liverpool have managed his injury lay-off by playing Luis Diaz on the left-wing and the Colombian's hot form means it could be difficult for Jota to force his way back amongst Klopp's starters.

19-year-old Stefan Bajcetic has endured the longest fitness rehab out of the quartet of returning players having featured just twice this season due to problems caused by a hip complaint.
