Jack Grealish missed a couple of clear-cut chances to put Manchester City's semi-final second-leg tie against Real Madrid to bed, having come off the bench to replace Gabriel Jesus in the 78th minute.

Ferland Mendy cleared the ball off the line in the first goalscoring opportunity for Grealish, and Thibaut Courtois then denied him shortly after, with Real Madrid punishing the Sky Blues in the last few minutes of the game.

Grealish's tweet

The England international published a tweet that simply read 'Hala Madrid', accompanied by a few Spanish flag emojis, back in April 2014.

That was eight years ago, when Grealish was an 18-year-old playing for Aston Villa who was watching the Champions League semi-final between Pep Guardiola's Bayern Munich and Carlo Ancelotti's Real Madrid.

Los Blancos would win that game courtesy of a Karim Benzema goal, and Grealish ended up deleting the eight-year-old tweet after it gained several retweets on Wednesday night.
