As Spain secured World Cup qualification with a 1-0 win over Sweden, the match was marred by Zlatan Ibrahimovic's deliberate barge on Cesar Azpilicueta.
The enigmatic striker, ahead of a corner kick in the latter stages of the game, brutally charged into the back of the Chelsea captain which saw him pick up a yellow card, and a subsequent ban upon further review.
Ibrahimovic himself has since spoken of the incident, insisting that he has no regrets and that he did it in order to send a message.
"The other day in the national team, I gave a tackle to Azpilicueta. I did it on purpose," he told the Guardian.
"I'm not ashamed to say it because he did something stupid to my player. Acting big to my player.
"It was a stupid thing but I would still do it to make him understand: 'You don't f***ing do that. You don't have balls to do it against me. But I will show you what happens if you do it to me.' That's why I did it."
