AC Milan want to sign Real Madrid's Marco Asensio and, according to Corriere dello Sport, sporting director Paolo Maldini has already contacted Carlo Ancelotti to sound out the Spain international's situation.
Asensio has not given anything away about his future, saying everything is still possible: staying at Madrid, leaving Madrid or running down his contract, which expires in 2023.
The Mallorcan plans to meet with Madrid this week to talk about what comes next. The fact he has not been an undisputed starter in Ancelotti's team opens up all possibilities -- he wants to feel important.
There is no shortage of interest. As well as Milan, Juventus, Arsenal and Manchester United all want to be kept up to date on his plans moving forward.
Madrid have not ruled out selling, given he is moving into the final year of his contract. They would expect around €50 million and in Milan's favor is their relationship with Ancelotti and the deals the two clubs have done recently, such as the loan of Brahim Diaz and the signing of Theo Hernandez.
