Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri has confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo no longer wants to play for the club.
Ronaldo has been strongly linked with a move to Pep Guardiola's Manchester City in the last few days and, after not training with Juventus on Friday, it seems that his departure is imminent.
"Yesterday, Cristiano told me that he no longer has any intention to play for Juventus. For this reason he will not be called up for tomorrow's game [against Empoli]," Allegri confirmed in Friday's pre-match press conference.
"Things change, it's a law of life. Juventus remains, which is the most important thing. Cristiano gave his contribution, he made himself available, now he leaves and life goes on.
"Cristiano is to be thanked for what he has done, also as an example amongst the youngsters. But as I said, we must go on."
Ronaldo's agent, Jorge Mendes, is currently negotiating his move from Juventus to Manchester City, with La Gazzetta dello Sport reporting that he will cost between 25 and 30 million euros.
