Antonio Conte has been granted the ability to craft the squad in his image this summer, with the Daniel Levy keen to keep the Italian happy as Tottenham look to build upon their strong finish to last season.

The club have brought in a number of expensive signings including Richarlison from Everton and Yves Bissouma from Brighton and will need to offload unwanted stars before the summer is out.

Tottenham finished fourth last season, pipping local rivals Arsenal to the final Champions League place on the last day of the season, and will be hoping Conte can improve them further this coming campaign.

Meanwhile, Ben Davies extended his contract at the club earlier this week and spoke about what an exciting time it is to be at the club under Conte.

The Italian is a serial league title winner, having won the Scudetto in Italy with two separate clubs as well as the Premier League with Chelsea. Tottenham fans will hope he can bring some of that magic to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this season.

'After last season and the summer this club has had there is no more exciting time than right now to be at this club,' he said.

'We've brought players in we hope will improve us as a squad and make us more competitive throughout the season.'
