Chelsea refused to tell their fanbase that Kai Havertz had scored against them when live Tweeting their game against Arsenal on social media.

Arsenal cruised to a 5-0 victory over Mauricio Pochettino's side during their Premier League clash at the Emirates on Tuesday evening.

To make matters worse, it was Havertz who provided two of the goals that helped Arsenal tighten their grip on the top spot in the Premier League.

Havertz - who made a £65million switch from Stamford Bridge to the Emirates last summer - also dented Chelsea's European aspirations with his two goals on Tuesday night.

Havertz felt no shame celebrating in front of the Chelsea fans despite having a prior relationship with the club after joining Chelsea from Bayer Leverkusen from £75m back in 2020.

The 24-year-old's celebrations clearly irritated Chelsea's social media team as they refused to name Havertz on their official X account when he fired home two second-half goals.

Instead of naming their former star, Chelsea simply tweeted 'Goal to the Gunners' after the German's 57th and 65th minute goals. Chelsea were, however, happy to name Arsenal's other goalscorer Ben White.

Chelsea's actions had little impact on Mikel Arteta after the game. Speaking to TNT, the Arsenal boss said it was 'a joy' to watch his side play as they stepped up their bid for a first Premier Leaguer title since 2003-04.

He said: 'I will congratulate them for their performance, for making our supporters proud and happy - it's a big London derby and we know what it means to them. It was a joy to watch them play and now rest. Enjoy today and on to Spurs now.'

The Spanish manager was full of praise for Odegaard and said the Norway midfielder was revelling in his role as captain.

Arteta added: 'That's always a question - how are you going to handle a different role when you have to stand up in front of everybody and represent the club?

'He's done it in an amazing way. He's so natural, he's loved by everybody. He's not someone who's going to be knocking on your door and shouting, but the way he lifts his game - I think it's more than enough to convince everybody to follow him.'

While Ally McCoist felt Arsenal's their offensive play against Chelsea was 'electric'. He said: 'Right now, you're going to have to say Arsenal have put Manchester City in a position where they are going to have to win every game.

'We know they can do it, but Arsenal are doing all they can at this moment in time.

'Everything about this performance was impressive, from start to finish. It's so important to them to continue their defensive record, another fabulous clean sheet, which they do take enormous pride in.

'But some of the forward play has been electric, it really has. The quality of their finishing, the brightness in the middle of the park, (Declan) Rice, Odegaard, there have been some great performances.'

Outclassed Chelsea squandered a series of chances, with Nicolas Jackson particularly culpable, as they suffered a first defeat in nine top-flight games and missed the chance to climb to seventh
