Arsenal fans have claimed Lewis Dunk was 'bodied' by Bukayo Saka after the Gunners winger won an aerial duel against the Brighton centre back before teeing Kai Havertz up for the north London club's opening goal. 

Saka appeared to get the better of Dunk as the pair challenged for a high ball inside the Brighton half.

The Arsenal winger appeared to jump to win the header, making contact with the 6ft 4in centre back and doing enough to push him away from the ball.

With the ball falling behind the pair, Saka turned to regain possession before clipping a pass forwards to Havertz. The German attacker subsequently produced a sensational lob, catching Bart Verbruggen off his line to put the home side 1-0 up. 

Fans though have taken to X (formerly Twitter) to question how Saka was able to get the better of Dunk in the aerial challenge. 

One wrote: 'Dunk getting bodied by Saka. Please don't compare this guy to Marc Guehi, no wonder he was the water boy in the Euros.'

Another added: 'How has Lewis Dunk lost out in the air to Saka though.'

'Dunk bullied off the ball by Saka,' one wrote with several crying faces, while another added: 'It was poor from Dunk, he was out muscled by the 5ft 6in Saka.'

After half-time, Arsenal continued to threaten before Mikel Arteta's side were sent down to 10 men, with Declan Rice being sent off for a second yellow card.

It was a controversial incident, with Rice appearing to clash with Joel Veltman before the Brighton player kicked out at the Arsenal midfielder, who fell to the ground. 

Rice was subsequently shown another yellow card for his part in the incident, before having to leave the field.
