Arsenal are reportedly considering a move for Lyon striker Moussa Dembele as they begin to put plans in place ahead of the summer transfer window.
Following a disastrous season, with the club on the brink of missing out on European football altogether, the Gunners are preparing for a mass overhaul of their squad.
And according to the Telegraph, Arsenal have explored the availability of Dembele - who is currently playing on loan at Atletico Madrid - and it is reported that he could be available for just £25million.
Moussa Dembele is being targeted by Arsenal ahead of the summer transfer window
With Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah's futures far from certain, Arsenal are looking to bring in a new striker.
Atletico, who have Dembele on loan until the season finishes, have an option to buy the Frenchman for around £30m this summer.
However there are doubts over whether Diego Simeone's side will make the move for Dembele following a tough season in the Spanish capital.
Dembele has been hindered by injuries since moving on loan from Ligue 1 outfit Lyon in January.
Mikel Arteta is planning a major overhaul of his squad following a disastrous campaign
The 24-year-old has only featured six times in all competitions for the current LaLiga leaders, and has failed to score yet.
But Arsenal will be well aware of Dembele's ability, having produced the goods consistently at Celtic and Lyon before he was shipped out on loan.
Dembele netted 51 times in 94 matches for Scottish giants Celtic while also bagging 45 goals in 108 games for Lyon - where his contract expires in the summer of 2023.
Arsenal have endured a nightmare season, languishing ninth in the Premier League, and it was compounded by their recent Europa League semi-final exit to Villarreal.
And manager Mikel Arteta has since admitted that huge changes are expected at the Emirates following the disastrous campaign.
Dembele scored 45 times in 108 games for Lyon before moving to Atletico Madrid on loan
'There are so many things to do because we already have a lot of players on loan, a lot of players with contracts still that we have to sort and it will depend on what happens with a lot of those players,' Arteta said on Tuesday.
'And what we are able to recruit to improve the team is going to determine where we are.
'We have been sitting down the whole year, we have been in constant communication, and things will change.
'Some things will stick to the plan that we already have and some other things will come out. But we sit down very, very regularly to talk about those things, obviously.'
