England's good luck charms: From Tolami Benson's '87' biker jacket to Ellie Alderson's 'O.W.' necklace, how the WAGs are sending their footballing beaus secret signals of luck - via their outfits

When England take on Switzerland tonight in the quarter finals of the Euros, they're going to need every little bit of luck they can get, having this far failed to find the form they're capable of on paper.

Fortunately, the WAGs will be wearing plenty of good luck charms to will their men into the semi finals.

Since the first match against Serbia on June 16th, the wives and girlfriends in the stands have been offering up creative yet subtle gestures of support, from personalised jewellery with the initials of their respective beaus to fashion that incorporates numbers meaningful to the sporting stars in their lives.

Tolami Benson is perhaps the ultimate low-key WAG at this year's tournament - she's rarely pictured with her long-term squeeze Bukayo Saka

However, when it comes to showing she cares, she'll all about the cryptic message - which she's incorporated into bespoke couture as the tournament has gone on.

Who needs just a shirt? PR exec Tolami Benson won fans with her bespoke leather biker jacket at England's first game against Serbia back in June. The jacket carries the number 87, the first jersey number her boyfriend Bukayo Saka wore when he broke through to the Arsenal first team

Tolami's 87 jacket - which has 'three lions' on the sleeves - was created by London designer Antonia Bronze

Beau-kayo! The notoriously private couple broke code by sharing a public kiss at the England v Slovenia game on June 25

The 23-year-old, who works as a Senior Planning Executive for Zenith in London, drove fans wild in a custom-made leather biker jacket emblazoned with '87' at the first England vs Serbia match.

The story behind the jacket is as unique as its design, with London designer Antonia Bronze admitting to reaching out to Tolami to create the unique design.

In an Instagram post describing the making of the coat, Bronze gushed: 'She was a complete dream to work with - she had a really clear vision in mind of what she wanted as well which was amazing.

Other subtle signs of support for Saka worn by Tolami include a 'bubble' B initial necklace, seen at the match between England and Slovakia in Gelsenkirchen at the weekend

The cute 'bubble' B retails at £60 from jewellery house PRYA

'Tolami already had all of these incredible crests so we just went from there with the design and we got really creative with the ideas.

'There was so much thought and consideration that went into choosing the numbers and fonts but I think we are both so happy that we went with the 87 in the end'.

More than just a fashion statement, the numbered jacket revealed a cryptic clue to the WAG's notoriously private relationship with her superstar boyfriend.

87 was Saka's jersey number for his 2018/2019 breakthrough season in the Arsenal squad. He also used the shirt number as a youth player, so it is likely close to his heart.

Elsewhere, Benson's worn a solid silver B, next to a heart charm around her neck, another subtle signifier of her support for the Arsenal star.

Cork-born model Aine May Kennedy, who's dating England's Conor Gallagher, also has a personalised bubble necklace of Gallagher's  shirt number - 16

Screensaver: Aine also had a photo of her boyfriend visible on her phone as she arrived at the stadium in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, ahead of the tense match against Slovakia

The Irish model and the Chelsea star have been in a relationship for four years

Ellie Alderson, partner of England player Ollie Watkins, has worn a pink diamante set of O W initials during the tournament

The brunette has been seen twiddling the initials during games, including, pictured, at the England vs Denmark match

And she's not the only WAG to opt for personalised jewellery that offers up a secret gesture of support.

London-based Irish fashion model Aine Kennedy, the long-term partner of Conor Gallagher, has been sporting a PRYA necklace too, this time in gold, with the number 16 in bubble letters.

The Cork-born influencer has been dating Gallagher, 22, who plays for Chelsea, for nearly four years - 16 is his England jersey number.

Aine also showed off her screensaver on her phone during the match with Slovakia at the weekend, which featured a shot of the happy couple together.

And Ellie Alderson, partner of England player Ollie Watkins, has worn a pink diamante set of O W initials during the tournament, which she's been frequently seen touching during the matches.

England's WAGs can't get enough of luxe jeweller Van Cleef's £4,200 four-leaf clover bracelet - with Ellie Alderson, Dani Dyer and Olivia Naylor all sporting the 'lucky' jewellery at the Euros

And Dani Dyer is a fan of the design, although the emerald colour suggests it may be a copycat version of Van Cleef's 18K gold design

John Stones partner Olivia Naylor was sporting two colourful versions of the Magic Alhambra design to accesorise her England shirt, which carries Stones' jersey number

As England's footballers head into the quarter finals this weekend, their wives and girlfriends will be prepping their latest stadium ensembles ahead of the squad's match against Slovenia.

And it seems for many of them, there's already a go-to piece of jewellery to reach for, which marries both style and a symbol of good luck.

So far at the tournament, Ellie Alderson, Dani Dyer and Olivia Naylor, WAGs of Ollie Watkins, Jarrod Bowen and John Stones respectively, have been sporting the four-leaf clover statement bracelet by French couture jewellery house Van Cleef & Arpels.

The 18K yellow or white gold Magic Alhambra bracelet retails at £4,200, although there are plenty of copycat versions available at a more modest price for those without a WAG budget.

The design was first conjured up by Van Cleef decades ago in 1968 and the iconic jewellery brand says the look was 'inspired by the clover leaf'. It comes in a variety of colours including emerald green and a stylish navy.

The classic motif was first unveiled by the jewellery house in 1968, and Van Cleef and Arpels has remained faithful to the design in the decades since

The Princess of Wales is also a fan, the royal sported a pair of two-motif Magic Alhambra earrings, which are thought to cost £5,400, at her Together at Christmas carol concert at Westminster Abbey in early December

The royal also sported the Van Cleef and Arpels necklace and matching earrings in mother of pearl during a royal visit to the Bahamas in 2022

It's not the first time a WAG has fallen for the pretty piece either; Sasha Attwood, Jack Grealish's girlfriend, wore two Van Cleef & Arpels bracelets during the World Cup in Qatar back in 2022 between England and Senegal.

The classic motif has become increasingly popular in recent months, with the Princess of Wales wearing a pair of Magic Alhambra earrings in one of her last public appearances before announcing her cancer diagnosis.

Kate sported a pair of two-motif earrings that retail at £5,400 at her Together at Christmas carol concert at Westminster Abbey in December.

The royal also wore a similar Alhambra necklace and matching earrings in mother of pearl during a royal visit to the Bahamas in 2022.

Less expensive versions of the jewellery motif include a £12.99 version by Pretty Little Luxury, and a mid-range version at £450 from Chisholm Hunter.
