Fans hail Thierry Henry's 'timeless class' and joke that he's 'still better than all Man United forwards' as the 46-year-old Arsenal legend pulls off amazing trick-shot penalty

Fans have taken to social media to heap praise on Thierry Henry after a video emerged of him taking part in a shooting drill.

The Arsenal legend was seen taking part in a training session with the French Olympic team ahead of the Games in Paris later this month.

Henry - who is the head coach of French Olympic team - was seen executing a penalty before curling the ball into the top right-hand-corner.

However, instead of taking a regular penalty, he toe-punted the ball with his standing left leg as he pretended to kick it with his right. 

The ball fizzed into the bottom right-hand-corner of the goal, sending the members of staff watching into applause. 

Fans were quick to jump on social media and praise Henry, with one supporter suggesting the 46 year old is better than current-day Kylian Mbappe.

One fan wrote: 'His skills, vision, and goalscoring ability have left an indelible mark on football fans worldwide. Truly a diamond in the history of the sport!'.

While another added: 'Still looking sharp as ever! Henry's class is truly timeless.' A third wrote: 'Greatest EPL player of all time. King Henry'.

Henry will be remembered as one of the best strikers the Premier League has ever seen after what he achieved at Arsenal.

Having moved to north London from Juventus in 1999, the Frenchman spent eight years as a Gunner and became a legend at the club.

Henry is the highest scorer in Arsenal's history with 228 goals in all competitions, 175 of those coming in the Premier League.

The forward then spent three years at Barcelona, winning two La Liga titles and the Champions League, before moving to New York Red Bulls in 2010.

He returned to Arsenal for a loan spell in January 2012, scoring the winner against Leeds in the FA Cup and Sunderland in the league.

When announcing his retirement from football, Henry said: 'I've been fortunate enough to have had an amazing playing career with many incredible memories and now I can't wait for the next chapter to begin with Sky Sports.

'I played for some of the best teams in football and now I'm joining what I think is the best team in television. I'm looking forward to joining the guys and helping to provide Sky Sports viewers with the best possible analysis. I can't wait.'
