Former Arsenal star shows off his incredible lawn on Instagram page 'The Lawn Lad' just one year after quitting football at 32 to pursue a career in gardening

A former Arsenal star has shown off his incredible lawn just a year after quitting football at the age of 32 to pursue a career in gardening.

The former Gunner and England Under-21 international, now 33, hung up his boots at the end of the 2022-23 season after helping Luton Town to promotion to the Premier League.

After leaving Luton, instead of looking for a new team, he took up a new career, which involved his passion for grass, showing off his work on his Instagram page 'The Lawn Lad'.

The ex-Gunners midfielder began his career in north London, where he was a highly-rated youngster and graduated to the first team under Arsene Wenger.

Now, however, he has taken to social media to show off his latest piece of work in his new pride and joy.

The video on the 'The Lawn Lad' Instagram page showed an impressive-looking lawn, as the person filming the video panned to the clouds above.

It was captioned: 'Grass coming back to life, while fertiliser 'Grass Gains' was also tagged.

The player in question was Henri Lansbury, who, after making eight appearances for Arsenal, went on to represent Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa and Bristol City, as well as earn 17 England U21 Caps.

He was last seen as part of the Luton squad that won promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs in June, but upon the expiry of his contract at Kenilworth Road he decided to take his career down a different path.

He previouslt headed to Monaco to work on the French side's pitches, after coming up with a new formula for fertiliser and revealoing his desire to give back to the game in the form of grass.

Speaking to talkSPORT, former Gunners youngster Lansbury revealed his plans and his excitement at takinghis work across Europe.

'It came about during the first lockdown when I was stuck at home and got into gardening,' Lansbury explained. 'I started to spray my weeds with toxic stuff and put toxic fertiliser down and my missus wasn't too happy about the kids running on the grass straight after.

'I was trying to usher them off and she said, "Why can't they just make an organic fertiliser?"

'I put my head together with my mate and me and the boys have cracked on and taken it to another level.

'I want to give back to the local clubs really, I want them to have a nice pitch to play on, there's nothing better than a kid running on a pitch with stripes on it and that's what it does, it helps stripe it off.'
