Former Real Madrid striker made his Champions League debut against Bayern at the age of 18

Robert Lewandowski is the talk of European football world after his fabulous Champions League debut in the Barça jersey.

In an interview with UEFA's official media, former Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic recalled the impact of making his debut in the continental competition against the Polish striker's Bayern side.

The striker, who now plays for Italian club Fiorentina, said: "I remember my debut for Benfica in the Champions League against Bayern Munich very well. I was 18 years old and had just arrived from Serbia. I came on in the 85th minute and I didn't understand anything. There was a set-piece where I was standing still and looking at Lewandowski, Arturo Vidal... I was looking at them and thinking 'is this it? I was looking at them and thinking, 'Is this true or am I dreaming?' I'll remember that for the rest of my life.

One of Real Madrid's failed signings in recent seasons wants to return to the top of European football at the Viola.

"I'm ready to get back to my old level, and for that, it's very important to play in Europe. We would all like to be in a Champions League team, but the Conference gives us a new opportunity and I think Fiore are among the favourites to win it. We have the quality to reach the final".

The Serbian striker wants to go back to being the player who surprised the Eintracht Frankfurt squad with his goalscoring figures that led to his signing for the 'casa blanca', but the memory of Robert Lewandowski remains strong in his mind.
