It was a tough night at the office for Ronald Araujo and Barcelona as the Blaugrana fell to Bayern Munich on Tuesday night.

After a strong first half, Xavi's men couldn't carry that into the restart. The Uruguayan struggled to keep the German giants at bay, showing he still has work to do when it comes to leading the Barcelona backline.

Meanwhile, Robert Lewandowski struggled in what was his first match against Bayern since leaving them in the summer.

Here's a look at how the Barcelona players performed.

The Barcelona goalkeeper started strongly and did well to save Goretzka's strike after the break. Could do nothing to stop either of Bayern's goals.

The best Barcelona player in defence. Whether on the flank or in the middle, he is a sure thing.

The surprise starter on the night. Showed he's up to the big matches, though he could have done more on Hernandez's goal.

Left too much space for Sane on the 2-0 goal. As the leader of the defence, needs to show more authority. Has a long way to go to reach Pique's level.

Made his debut and provided Lewandowski with a great assist, only for his header to be denied by Neuer. Put in a solid performance, but wasn't on the same page as Christensen for Hernandez's goal.

Good opening half but looked sluggish after the restart. Couldn't handle Bayern's vertical play.

Performed well until Bayern delivered their one-two punch. Had a glorious chance to make it 2-1, but was cruelly denied by the post. A real gem of a player.

Like Pedri, he lost steam after Bayern went ahead. Before then, he showed that he belonged on the field. Was later subbed off for De Jong.

Less influential than this teammates. Needs to make his presence felt in big matches, which he didn't do on Tuesday.

The most active of the Barcelona wingers in the first half, but came off for Ferran Torres when Bayern went up 2-0. Should have done more with his two chances.

A rare off-night for the Polish striker. Should have scored two goals in the first half, and his inability to do so cost Barcelona. Did his return to the Allianz Arena weigh on him?

Came on in the second half but couldn't change the outcome, as Bayern were in control by that point.

Has struggled in recent times and that continued on Tuesday.

Came on with 10 minutes remaining, which was enough time to get a workout in.

Like Kessie, he came on when things were already decided.
