Florentino Perez testified this Tuesday during Neymar's trial. It was a short intervention, as the Real Madrid president referred to the documentation provided by Los Blancos as part of the brief.

After admitting that Real Madrid made an offer for the Brazilian forward when he was playing for Santos, Perez was unwilling to go into details. He constantly referred to the fact that all operations are carried out by the club's directors, stressing that he does not intervene at all.

"[The offer Real Madrid made] was 45 million, as reflected in the brief," Perez said.

"We were interested in the player ten years ago. I knew through the sporting directors that he wanted to leave Santos. I didn't talk to anyone."

Then, Perez was asked why the Brazilian forward decided to turn down the offer made by Real Madrid.

"Players go where they want and Neymar wanted to go to Barcelona and that's why he went there," Perez noted.

Relationship with DIS

The prosecutors wanted to know what Perez's relationship was with Brazilian investment firm DIS, who accuse Barcelona and Santos of making a plan to prevent them from receiving the complete financial amount they were entitled to from the transfer. Asked if he had meetings with DIS representatives in the past, Perez was very coy.

"If I met with DIS? I have no idea," Perez declared.

"I don't remember anything about that. I did not participate in anything. It's all in the case file. If we didn't respond to a letter they sent us it would be because we would have nothing to say."
