Ousmane Dembele has turned his career around. The Barcelona winger had a tough time at the Camp Nou until Xavi Hernandez took the reins, and he has since become one of the most dangerous wingers in Spain again.
Now at the World Cup with France, Dembele is hoping to help Les Bleus defend their title of world champions, and he knows that he has become more important to the national team.
"Things have been going better for me in the national team in the last few years," Dembele told Telefoot. "Both on and off the pitch. ??"I feel good with the team and I always try to have fun."
Kylian Mbappe is undeniably the star of the French national team, though Dembele is happy when he plays with the Paris Saint-Germain forward.
"We feel good together, Kylian and I," Dembele said.
"It's easy to find him, he moves well and we know what he brings to the team."
Mbappe scored a brace as France beat Denmark to qualify from their group, but Dembele put in a good shift.
"The game against Denmark might be my best for France," Dembele added. ??"The coach asked me to cause problems, to create danger. That's what I try to do."
