Barcelona are set to offer Sergio Busquets a new deal along with four others before targeting three signings in the summer transfer window, it has been reported.

The defensive midfielder, as well as Alejandro Balde, Inaki Pena, Ousmane Dembele and Sergi Roberto, will all be given contract renewals by the Catalan giants.

Head coach Xavi Hernandez will then set his eyes on a three-man transfer shortlist including Sofyan Amrabat, Vitor Roque and Yannick Carrasco, according to Football Espana.

The 26-year-old Fiorentina star will have a year left on his contract at the end of this season and it would give Xavi another midfield option to cover veteran Busquets.

Barca have also reportedly begun negotiations with Brazilian outfit Athletico Paranaense for 17-year-old wonderkid Roque.

They have contacted technical director Luiz Felipe Scolari and CEO Alexandre Mattos to begin talks over bringing Roque to the Nou Camp.

The youngster does not turn 18 until February 28, but Barca are confident that they can strike up a deal that will bring him to the club in the summer. 

He already has seven goals and three assists for the Furacao from 36 appearances, having joined in April 2022 shortly after turning 17. 

Barcelona have also negotiated a 'preferential but not compulsory purchase option' for Atletico Madrid attacker Carrasco. 

Carrasco was the subject of interest from Arsenal and Crystal Palace on deadline day in January 2019. However, the deal fell through. 

Carrasco - currently in his second spell at Atletico - has previously played for Chinese Super League club Dalian Professional.  

He has enjoyed great success during his time in Spain - winning the LaLiga title with the club last season.
