The Catalan club have named their squad for Thursday's trip to Real Madrid

The Copa del Rey is back. Despite Barcelona's poor form after the defeats in Manchester and Almeria, they have a chance redeem themselves in the first leg of the cup semi-final against Real Madrid on Thursday.

With LaLiga on the right path, the Copa now comes to the forefront with the aim of winning a domestic treble at the end of the season following Super Cup success. 

The semi-final will be marked by a number of absentees, although the good news is that Asnu Fati is back in the squad. The forward will be available for Xavi, leaving Lewandowski, Dembélé and Pedri as injury absentees for the match. 

The recovery of Ansu gives some breathing space to Xavi, who may have to find an untried formula for the first leg at the Santiago Bernabeu. 

The squad

The squad consists of Ter Stegen, Araujo, Sergio, Gavi, Ansu Fati, Ferran, Iñaki Peña, Christensen, Marcos Alonso, Jordi Alba, Kessie, Sergi Roberto, Frenkie de Jong, Raphinha, Koundé, Eric, Balde, Pablo Torre, Arnau Tenas, Alarcón and Estanis.

Estanis Pedrola and Ángel Alarcón complete the list of called-up players. The absence of Dembélé and Lewandowski in attack has forced Xavi to turn to the reserve team and bring in Estanis, who is in good form after his latest exhibition with Barça Atlètic.
