The Manchester City right-back wants to return to LaLiga this summer

Joao Cancelo's future is gradually becoming clearer. According to Kicker, the Portuguese full-back will not remain at Bayern Munich after his loan spell is over and his priority is to play in LaLiga, which is why he is also hoping to leave Manchester City.

Real Madrid and Barcelona are aware of the situation and are considering signing him, although City, for now, are prioritising a pure and simple sale, and want over €50 million for the player.

The Blaugrana had already considered the arrival of Cancelo in January, but City decided to transfer him to Bayern because the economic conditions were much more advantageous.

Now, Barça have spoken to his agent, Jorge Mendes, to show their interest but they can only bid for a loan move as any investment this summer will be made in other more priority positions. City want to sell him permanently and Madrid are studying the operation as they need a right-back.

Cancelo, who played in LaLiga with Valencia, is very keen on Barça and will force the situation as long as the Catalan club remain the only option for him to leave. For now, Manchester City have only made it clear that they will consider offers as Cancelo is not in Pep Guardiola's plans for the future.

At Barça, there are more options on the table, but everything points to Cancelo gaining momentum if he finally becomes a market opportunity through an advantageous loan.

The Blaugrana understand that his incorporation could be delayed until August as City could force the issue. Madrid are still undecided as their priority now is to reinforce their forward line after the departure of Karim Benzema.
