Barcelona have confirmed that Lamine Yamal has finally become an official first team player at the club.
Yamal, who turns 17 on Saturday, made his Barcelona debut in April 2023 at the age of just 15 and played 50 times across all competitions last term, but had previously been registered as a Barca Atletic player.
The Catalan giants have had difficulties with registering players in recent years due to financial problems, but Yamal is now officially part of the first team.
His teenage team-mate, defender Pau Cubarsi, is now also regarded as part of the senior squad after breaking into the first team last season.
Barcelona announced the news on their website on Thursday in a statement that read: 'Pau Cubarsi and Lamine Yamal are now official first team squad members.

'Previously registered with the U19s and Barça Atlètic respectively, the two blaugrana have been full members of the FC Barcelona first team squad since Tuesday.'
Cubarsi was somewhat surprisingly omitted from Spain's final 26-man squad for Euro 2024, but Luis de la Fuente's men have maned to cope without him by beating Germany and France to make Sunday's final.

Yamal, on the other hand, has played a crucial role in Spain's run to the final. He has provided three assists in Germany, and scored a wondergoal in their 2-1 win over France in Tuesday's semi-final.
His 25-yard strike past Mike Maignan saw him become the youngest-ever goalscorer in Euros history.
His club future now appears to be clarified for now, and he has the chance to become a European champion just a day after his 17th birthday.
Only England stand in his way after Gareth Southgate's side beat the Netherlands 2-1 on Wednesday to book their spot in Berlin.
Yamal may be the youngest player at the tournament, but England cannot afford to underestimate him after he made France's Adrien Rabiot eat his words earlier this week.

Rabiot tried to downplay Yamal's impact at Euro 2024 prior to the semi-final, only for Yamal to turn away from him and fire home from range to bring Spain back into the last-four clash after France had taken an early lead.
Yamal was seen repeating the phrase 'speak now' to the cameras after full time in an apparent dig at Rabiot.
He will now bid to torment England on Sunday and lead Spain to their fourth European crown.
