Kounde: Sevilla are a great club, but joining Barcelona is another step in my career

Jules Kounde has already made his first comments as a Barcelona player.

The defender, who signed for Barcelona this Thursday afternoon, is excited and delighted with the new phase he is starting at the Camp Nou.

He believes the move is big one for his career, while he also highlighted the importance of Xavi in his decision to sign for the Catalan club.

"I'm very proud, grateful and excited because I'm coming to a very big club," Kounde explained.

"I'm looking forward to starting to play, I can't wait to play, and I'm very excited.

" Sevilla are a great club, but joining Barcelona is another step in my career at all levels, especially on a sporting level.

"Xavi is largely to thank, I've spoken to him several times and I was very excited by his speech.

"The conversations were very fluid, we see football in the same way."

The player described himself as dynamic, energetic and someone with the ability to bring the ball out, as well as saying he leaves everything on the pitch.

Yet, he knows he can keep improving.

"I'm going to listen and learn," he added.

Finally, he revealed the reason why he celebrates goals in such a peculiar way.

"I love basketball and, above all, Kobe Bryant and it's a tribute to him," he stated.
