The sacking of Julian Nagelsmann as Bayern Munich coach continues to be dissected. The sacking of the coach was brought about by a number factors, but now the German newspaper 'Bild' has revealed what was the trigger for the coach to have to pack his bags.

They report that Sadio Mane, Bayern's star signing this season, was very angry with Nagelsmann in front of his teammates for having played only eight minutes in the second leg of the Champions League match against PSG.

According to Bild, this confrontation was the trigger for Nagelsmann's sacking, as the players perceived that the coach had been intimidated by Mane's anger.

Behind closed doors, among the staff, this was a clear loss of authority on Nagelsmann's part. Not only that, but the coach did not punish Mane and started him against Augsburg in the Bundesliga, which was the next game after the clash.

Bayern officials realised after this that Nagelsmann had completely lost the dressing room and that his authority had been undermined, so they decided that the best course of action was to sack him.

Even Hasan Salihamidzic, Bayern's sporting director, acknowledged when asked about Nagelsmann's dismissal that these were the main reasons. "The relationship between the team and the coach was no longer working," he said.
