Kylian Mbappe and Neymar stole most of the attention as Paris Saint-Germain beat Juventus in their 2022/23 Champions League opener on Tuesday.

The Frenchman and Brazilian combined in style for their opener and the former scored the second, setting them on their way to a big win.

But something involving Lionel Messi went a little unnoticed pre-match. And people are asking questions.

Messi wore 'GOAT' on the sleeve of his warm-up shirt

Some sharp-eyed viewers pointed out on social media that Messi was the only PSG player to have 'GOAT' printed on the right sleeve of his warm-up top.

Sergio Ramos, Carlos Soler, Neymar, Marco Verratti and Kylian Mbappe all returned to the dressing room without the acronym being seen.

When PSG announced the sponsor, many commented that it was fitting for Messi to be able to have the label on his shirt during games.

Why was Messi wearing 'GOAT' on his sleeve when none of his teammates were? For now it's a mystery, but not many fans who know football will dispute that it's appropriate.

What does GOAT stand for???

GOAT stands for the 'greatest of all time', which Lionel Messi probably is in football.

Barcelona previously referred to him as such, and they were far from being unique in doing so.

In June 2018, Messi featured on the cover of Paper Magazine holding a goat, and he did similarly for an Adidas advertisement as well.
