Paris Saint-Germain's strong start to the season is due in large part to Neymar, who looks like a different player than the one seen in previous years.
Rather than being solely focused on the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the talented forward is back to enjoying himself on the pitch as he looks to lead the French giants to Champions League glory.
With eight goals in seven Ligue 1 matches, along with another two goals in the Trophee des Champions, the Brazilian is scoring at the same rate as Kylian Mbappe, and playing at the same level as Lionel Messi, who continues to impress with his passing.
Ahead of PSG's away match against Maccabi Haifa in the Champions League, PSG coach Christophe Galtier said he's pleased with the Brazilian's contributions this season.
"I could say it was thanks to me," the French coach joked. "There has been a realisation compared to last season, which was less successful and in which he wasn't as present.
"He has very high goals. He arrived on time, in shape and very fit, because he worked hard beforehand.
"Neymar is a creator, a passer, a finisher and an artist. When he is mentally and physically well, that's when he performs well."
Neymar is back to being a key contributor for PSG, with Galtier highlighting it isn't just due to his goalscoring abilities.
"He is a player who works hard for the team in attack, and in his desire to win the ball back," said Galtier.
