Chelsea's deadline day pursuit of Memphis Depay has come to an end after the Dutchman confirmed his decision to stay in Spain on social media.
Thomas Tuchel's side had been exploring a last-minute move for the Dutchman having already agreed deals for striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and midfielder Denis Zakaria.
Barcelona's Memphis Depay has confirmed his decision to stay in Spain for the season
Thomas Tuchel was looking to make Depay his third signing on the last day of the window
The Dutchman wrote: 'I have decided to stay at Barça! Fully committed to contribute to the club's sporting success. #ViscaBarca', accompanied with some heart emojis.
A path looked like it had been cleared for Depay to leave the Catalan side ever since Robert Lewandowski's July arrival from Bayern Munich - when the Dutchman had his No.9 shirt taken from him.
Shortly afterwards, when Barcelona were rushing to sell players to allow them to register their new signings, he was linked with potential moves to Juventus, Manchester United and Tottenham.
But it seems Xavi's side, and Depay himself, have U-turned on that stance and have come to the agreement that the 28-year-old will stay in Spain for the upcoming season.

Chelsea and Barcelona have finally struck an agreement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Meanwhile, the Blues have already struck a deadline-day deals for his Barcelona team-mate Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Juventus' Denis Zakaria.
Talks over the Aubameyang have been ongoing for weeks and the Blues have long been optimistic of their chances of getting a deal done, having now agreed a deal for £12m.
Sportsmail understands Chelsea have an option to buy the midfielder, 25, for £30million once his loan spell ends.
After failing in efforts to sign Edson Alvarez from Ajax and Ibrahim Sangare from PSV Eindhoven, Chelsea have turned to the 6ft 3ins Swiss international, who moved to Juventus in January for £4m after leaving Borussia Monchengladbach.
