A new report has shone light on the chaotic nature of Chelsea's transfer window, with Mauricio Pochettino considering a move for Hugo Lloris with his goalkeeping situation in disarray after Kepa Arrizabalaga joined Real Madrid on loan.
Arrizabalaga asserted himself as the Blues' No 1 last season, after the most expensive goalkeeper of all time had previously found himself serving as backup to Edouard Mendy.
Mendy departed the club this summer to join Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli, after failing to live up to the heroics of his maiden campaign at Stamford Bridge.
In his first summer in charge of the club, Pochettino signed Roberto Sanchez for £25m with the intention of the former Brighton star providing competition for Arrizabalaga for a place in the starting XI.
However, according to a report from The Telegraph, the club's goalkeeping plans were thrown into disarray after Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was ruled out for much of the season with an ACL injury leading to interest in Arrizabalaga.

Pochettino is said to have told Sanchez he would be starting the campaign as second choice, before just one day later allowing Arrizabalaga to join Los Blancos on loan.
With the club then in need of a deputy for Sanchez, the former Spurs boss turned to Hugo Lloris, with the French goalkeeper having indicated he was ready for a new challenge after more than a decade in North London.
Ultimately though, Chelsea would instead opt to move for relative unknown Djordje Petrovic from MLS side New England Revolution on the recommendation of goalkeeping coach Ben Roberts.
The report also states that Pochettino was unlikely to have known much about the new signing prior to his arrival for £14m earlier this month.
So far, Sanchez has started all three of Chelsea's Premier League games this season, keeping his first clean sheet for the club in their 3-0 win at home to Luton last week.
