- The 25-year-old wants to rebound from injury-ravaged start to United debut
- Mount tells fans he can 'make an impact' with the team focused on success
- United manager Erik ten Hag gives Mount backing, urging fans for patience
Mason Mount has told Manchester United fans he plans to make an 'impact' next season, after a disappointing start to life at Old Trafford.
He joined United from Chelsea in a £60million transfer last summer, in a deal that runs to the summer of 2028.
But a slew of injuries throughout the 2023-24 campaign have prevented Mount from living up to the hype that surrounded his transfer.
He missed four months of last season, making just 14 league appearances – many of which came from the bench – and rarely playing more than 45 minutes a time.
Now, in a rare public interview, the 25-year-old midfielder has shared his frustration around the limited game time he received – but has promised fans that there's much more to come from his and his teammates.

The England international has endured an injury-ravaged start to life at Old Trafford
'We know what we can do as a group and I think we showed it at the end of last season,' the England international said in an interview, posted on the club's website.
'We definitely have a group that can win trophies and that's the most important thing.
'We'll keep trying to do that and stay focused on that goal, because this is Manchester United and we need to set the bar as high as we can and we know how high the bar is.
'Now it's time for us to perform. But we're ready for it, as I said, and as many trophies as we can get, win as many games as we can.
'That's our focus throughout the whole group. We're definitely on the same page.'
And United manager Erik ten Hag has given Mount his backing, urging fans to show the player the same level of support.

Mount's has cut a frustrated figure, after making 14 league appearances on his debut season
'You can't judge his season, because he was injured. Don't judge him,' ten Hag urged.
'But when he is fit he will be a very good player for us and we can use him, versatile,' the United manager said last week.
'You need certain types in the squad, team players, multifunctional players. Definitely, he is one of the players who can play in several positions, he will help the team.'
But the 25-year-old was a massively influential figure at his childhood team, Chelsea
Fans will need to be upbeat, but the moments of brilliance he exhibited during his Chelsea career suggests he he does not just influence individual moments in a game, but also the course of a club's entire season.
He was vital to their Champions League success in 2020-21, and racked up 29 goal involvements the following season.
This form led former Chelsea captain John Terry to say he thinks Mount has what it takes to become the future captain of club – and country.
