Thanks for joining us

Thanks so much for joining us tonight for the Europa Conference League play-off clash in Switzerland that sees Chelsea qualify for the group stage. Remember to check out the rest of Mail Sport for all reaction to tonight's game.

Breaking:Chelsea qualify for Europa Conference League group stage

The Blues suffer defeat on the night in Switzerland but hold out to win the tie 3-2 to confirm safe passage throught to the Europa Conference League group stage.

It would have been embarrassing if Chelsea hadn't qualified and qualifying for the main part of the European competition has lifted pressure on manager Enzo Fernandez.

Servette gave it their all, but eventually Chelsea's vastly expensive squad came through the encounter successfully.

FULL TIME: Servette 2-1 Chelsea

20:23, 93'

Servette 2-1 Chelsea

That was the golden chance for the hosts as the ball rolls out towards Cognat who tries to bend an effort into the far corner. He didn't quite get enough whip on his strike as the ball sailed safely behind.

20:19, 90'

Servette 2-1 Chelsea

We will have six additional minutes played here... or another 30 if Chelsea concede now!

20:18, 90'

Servette 2-1 Chelsea

This is quite odd because the match has temporarily posed as the home fans set off a mass firework show. Cole Palmer looks like a kid as he watches along before getting the ball rolling again.

20:17, 88'

Servette 2-1 Chelsea

Another Chelsea attacks gives Veiga a chance to show his shooting potential as he sets one up from range and hits a good effort towards goal. The keeper made a mess of his save as the ball goes out for a corner.

20:16, 86'

Servette 2-1 Chelsea

Chelsea are still trying to force openings but have looked slightly susceptible to counter-attacks in the last couple of minutes. Fortunately for them, Servette have been wasteful in attacking areas.

20:12, 83'

Servette 2-1 Chelsea

OFF THE BAR! It's a great run from Nkunku who creates space and cuts the ball back for Palmer. He is perfectly placed to score but somehow smashes his effort off the bar. A rare mistake from the Chelsea star.

20:06, 77'

Servette 2-1 Chelsea

Chelsea look shaken by that goal, unsurprisingly.

The crowd are as you'd imagine right up for this now that there's only one goal in it.

Jackson thinks he's levelled it all up, but the offside flag goes up.

20:03, 74'

Servette 2-1 Chelsea

Well in response Mudryk has been hooked for Palmer.

Jackson is then given a booking for breaking up a counter.

20:02, 73'

Breaking:GOAL! SERVETTE 2-1 Chelsea

Crivelli has had an eventful introduction to the game, and now he's got his goal!

It's a cross in from the right and the centre forward just hammers it home with his head, popping up in between Badiashile and Adarabioyo.

Game well and truly on now!

20:00, 70'

Servette 1-1 Chelsea

It's all got a little ragged from Chelsea at the back.

The ball comes swinging into the centre of the box and Crivelli looks to get on the end of it, but the defenders rally just in time to concede the corner.

Badiashile clears, but the hosts come back at them, before Ondoua's shot is well wide of the mark.

19:54, 65'

Servette 1-1 Chelsea

Crivelli, who came on about 60 seconds ago, is already booked, after going in studs up on Tosin.

Douline is then booked after a foul on Jackson a minute later.

19:52, 63'

Servette 1-1 Chelsea

Triple change for Chelsea, and Caicedo takes the armband from Fernandez, Jackson replaces Guiu, and it's a debut for Tyrick George, who comes on for Madueke.

19:51, 62'

Servette 1-1 Chelsea

Off comes Guillemenot and Antunes and in their place come Stevanovic and Crivelli.

19:48, 59'

Servette 1-1 Chelsea

After a bit more fire and fury from the Blues at the start of the half, the pace has just dropped a notch or two.

Chelsea are passing back to Jorgensen a little more often to try and take control fo the flow of the match.

Nkunku and Madueke have both tracked back brilliantly tonight, it has to be said, and the French international wins a foul doing just that.

19:43, 53'

Servette 1-1 Chelsea

Mudryk flies up the pitch after intercepting a Servette pass, but one-on-one with Mall he fluffs his lines and it goes out for a corner.

It's a very weird cross in from Fernandez, who goes very high and wide to pick out Disasi in the box.

The French defender brings it down and has ages to pick a pass, but Servette rally to get it clear.

19:40, 51'

Servette 1-1 Chelsea

Madueke has come out flying in this second half.

He drops deep to ping one out to Mudryk across the pitch, and the Ukrainian is off and running at the defence.

He gets to the edge of the box and has a go, but it soars over the bar.

Chelsea aren't settling for a draw, that much is clear.

19:38, 49'

Servette 1-1 Chelsea

Madueke tracks back brilliantly to prevent a Servette counter attack and recycles the ball for his sides.

It comes back out to Madueke on the right a few phases later, and he absolutely smashes on into Nkunku on the edge of the box, who flicks it up and goes for the bicycle kick.

Let's just say it wasn't a goal of the season contender.

19:34, 46'

Servette 1-1 Chelsea

And we're back underway in Geneva.

Servette get the second half going, but it's not long before it's back in Chelsea hands.

HT: Servette 1-1 Chelsea

For those of you just joining us, it's been a strange one to describe.

Not an awful lot has happened, and yet Chelsea have looked comfortable, but also not overly impressive?

Servette have scored with their one real chance, and though the visitors have worked the ball well in the final third for large parts of the game thus far, they've not actually forced Joel Mall into many meaningful saves since their goal.

It's evenly poised on the night, but the Blues still hold that all-important two-goal advantage.

19:19, 46'

HT: Servette 1-1 Chelsea

And there goes the whistle after one minute of added time.

Chelsea took the lead from the spot early on, but were penned back just after the half hour by Servette.

They still have that two-goal advantage, but you get the feeling the Blues need a big performance in this second half, to lay down a statement if nothing else.

19:18, 45'

Servette 1-1 Chelsea

But Servette are coming back before the break.

Tsunemoto carries it well up the right and cuts in to try and look for an option in the box.

He's not really put under any pressure and can take his time picking out the pass, but Fernandez gets back to intercept and thump clear.

A few seconds later Cognat breaks into the box on the right, but this time it's Jorgensen who stops the cross.

19:13, 41'

Servette 1-1 Chelsea

Guiu has also had a good first half.

He again combines with Madueke, who races into the box from the right hand side, but Mall flies off his line to narrow the gap.

The newly called up England startrise to go across goal into the bottom left, but can't find the gap.

19:10, 38'

Servette 1-1 Chelsea

Well it all feels a little different all of a sudden.

Servette earn a corner off Badiashile and although it's thumped out by Jorgensen, the hosts look more confident than earlier on bringing it back into the attack.

It's a good spell for the Swiss side, can they make it pay before the break?

19:08, 35'

Servette 1-1 Chelsea

That's certainly sparked some life in the stands, after a pretty passive start from the hosts.

Quite literally actually - there are a few flares now in the stands behind the goal.

Wouldn't be a European night without the pyrotechnics!

19:04, 32'

Breaking:GOAL! SERVETTE 1-1 Chelsea

Servette are level on the night, and it's a brilliant finish from Guillenmenot inside the box, who fairs across the goal into the bottom left with Jorgensen unable to do anything about it.

But big credit to Kutesa, who was incisive on the ball running at the defence before finding his team-mate.

19:01, 29'

Servette 0-1 Chelsea

Madueke, on his big day, has been the quiter of the front three so far.

He actually just gives away a free kick for a hand in the back as I say that.

But Mudryk has been bright, and has made a few good runs cutting in off that left flank.

Chelsea fans will be keen to see things click into place for the Ukrainian, who has had a rough start to his Chelsea career.

19:00, 27'

Servette 0-1 Chelsea

Cognat has an effort for the hosts that he won't want to be seeing again anytime soon.

The throw comes in from the right hand side and comes to the Servette man on the edge of the box and he sets himself as if to unfurl a strike a la Joe Cole vs Sweden at the 2006 World Cup.

Alas, he can't quite emulate the former Chelsea star, and his snap shot balloons over the bar.

18:55, 22'

Servette 0-1 Chelsea

Someone's liking what they've seen so far..

Chelsea have been well on top.

It's not been the perfect playing surface for Maresca's side - I'm sure Guardiola will have something to say about that - but they've controlled the tempo of the game nicely.

18:50, 17'

Servette 0-1 Chelsea

Second booking now for Badiashile after a foul on Guillemenot.

A free-kick in a dangerous area out wide for Servette.

It's actually a very good ball in, too, whipped across the back of the Chelsea defensice line, but Rouiller can't get his effort on target.

18:46, 14'

Breaking:GOAL! Servette 0-1 CHELSEA

And Nkunku tucks it away, just as he did in the first leg!

The Frenchman goes low and hard to his left and the keeper guesses the right way.

But there was just too much on it and Mall couldn't get close.

Nkunku puts the Blues ahead, and that's surely going to be a big sigh of relief from Maresca, who pumps his fists on the bench.

18:45, 13'

Penalty!

Mudryk cuts into the ball after a speculative ball from Veiga cross-field, and is scythed down by Tsunemoto after profiting from the defender's heavy touch.

Servette 0-0 Chelsea

An early booking for Severin who pulls Nkunku to the ground around the Chelsea box.

Servette 0-0 Chelsea

With Dewsbury-Hall and Nkunku behind that front three, there's plenty of attacking runs coming from midfield so far.

Servette have barely had more than 10 seconds on the ball and thus far Chelsea have looked comfortable zipping it around the place.

A rare attack from the hosts results in a rather hopeless shot from 30 yards into the midriff of Tosin. Not the best use of the possession, that.

Servette 0-0 Chelsea

Hello Enzo Fernandez!

Guiu and Nkunku link up well outside the box, and after the later is bundled to the ground it falls to Fernandez.

He lets fly from 20-odd yards and draws a very good diving stop from goalkeeper Mall to tip round the post.

Badiashile then has an effort blocked from the corner, before Servette get it clear.

Servette 0-0 Chelsea

An interesting system in place for the Blues.

It's a very narrow back four, which becomes three when they're in possession, with Mudryk, Madueke and Guiu the front three.

Chelsea have enjoyed some possession early on, and have all 10 outfield players camped out in the Servette half.

Kick-off!

And we're underway!

The Blues - in white tonight - get us underway in Geneva.

Enzo Maresca already looks pensieve and uncomfortable on the touchline.

Bodes well!

Tribute to Sven

Tribute is paid to Sven Goran Eriksson before kick-off by both sides, after the former England manager sadly passed away earlier this week.

A rapturous moment's applause for the Swede, and now we're ready to go!

Big night for Fernandez

Big night for Enzo Fernandez to lead the side tonight.

Axel Disasi has captaincy experience from his time at Monaco, of course, but the Argentina midfielder is the senior player out there tonight for the Blues.

He's 23, and has only played 65 games for Chelsea, by the way.

What about the hosts?

While Chelsea have come into this one hot off the back of a big win, Servette haven't played since their 2-0 defeat at the Bridge.

The hosts actually made it to the Europa League last term, but finished thrid in their group and dropped into the Conference League Last-16.

This term, they've been in decent form with three wins from their first five in the league.

No complacency from Maresca's Blues

Enzo Maresca was adamant that his side wouldn't be getting complacent tonight off the back of two wins on the bounce.

It will be a tough game, I don't have any doubts.

I don’t think complacency will be an issue after just one or two wins in a row. We need to be ready and motivated 100 per cent, for sure.

The target is to try to get a good result and go forward to the group.

Games you win at home and think it is almost done, but it's not like this. Especially not on this pitch, in this environment. So we need to be absolutely ready.

I guess nobody told Maresca it's actually a league now, not a group...

Chelsea turning up in style tonight

Whoever designed those Chelsea away kits was certainly cooking.

A lovely white shirt with blue and red trim to be worn by the Blues tonight, and hopefully they can pull off a performance as stylish as their jerseys to impress the travelling support, who weren't too happy with what they saw in the first leg...

Maresca lays down the law

And going on behind the game is plenty of transfer activity at Stamford Bridge - although that's nothing new in the Todd Boehly-Clearlake era is it?

This time though, Maresca has laid down the law and spared no bones in telling his out-of-favour players what will happen if they can't find a move.

You can read more about Maresca's stance at the link below...

So what happened last time, I hear you ask?

Well, on paper it was a pretty comfortable night at Stamford Bridge for Maresca's side, who came away 2-0 winners.

Goals from Christopher Nkunku and Noni Madueke confirmed the result, but it wasn't quite all rosy.

The Blues were booed off the pitch at half-time after struggling to break through the Swiss visitors, and though they got the job done eventually, it wasn't exactly a comprehensive result.

You can read more about it to refresh yourselves with KIERAN GILL'S report below...

Speaking of Madueke, it's a massive day for the young forward who has been handed his first ever senior England call-up from his former U21 boss Lee Carsley.

The Chelsea star has four goals in two games and is in red hot form, and now he's been handed the chance to show what he can do on the big stage for his country.

Fellow Blues Levi Colwill and Cole Palmer have also been called up by Carsley for his squad to take on Republic of Ireland and Finland, as has ex-Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher.

For the full squad, you can check out the link below!

EIGHT changes from the Blues

Man, Chelsea's squad is big.

It's EIGHT changes from the side that beat Wolves 6-2 at the weekend, with Palmer, Madueke and Fernandez the only survivors.

Fernandez takes the armband, too.

TEAM NEWS: SERVETTE

And the hosts line up for their big European clash!

TEAM NEWS: CHELSEA

Here's how the visitors will be lining up tonight...

Hello!

Hello everyone!

Straight from the drama of the new Champions League draw, we're turning to the Conference League action, with Chelsea looking to tie up their qualification tonight.

Enzo Maresca and his side are in Geneva to try and complete the job in a professional manner with a two-goal lead already in the back pocket.

Kick-off is about an hour away so stick with us until then, but for now let's take a look at the teams, shall we?

What about that for a ground!

I mean, talk about views.

Servette boast one of the most scenic grounds in Europe with a lovely picture-perfect snapshot off the gorgeous Swiss landscape overlooking tonight's game.

They've a hill to climb tonight, though, the hosts (thank you).

Will it be a disappointing night for the Geneva crowd, or will we get a big upset?

It's still too early in Maresca's reign to judge his performances, but if Saturday's thumping of Wolves is anything to go by, there's sure to be some goals...
