Chelsea star is named as one of the Premier League signings of the summer by Peter Crouch - as the former forward picks out his top three moves from the window

Peter Crouch has named one of Chelsea's new signings as one of his top three arrivals of the summer in the Premier League.

The Blues were once again active in the transfer market as they spent £220m, completing deals for a number of players including the likes of Joao Felix, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Filip Jorgensen.

They continue to spend money under the Clearlake ownership, while several other stars, including Conor Gallagher and Raheem Sterling, departing on either loan or permanent deals after being banished to Enzo Maresca's 'bomb squad'.

Time will tell if each arrival proves to be a success or not, but one player who joined for big money has been praised by former Premier League striker Crouch.

That man was Pedro Neto, who joined the London side from Wolves for £54million in perhaps one of the shock moves of the summer.

Crouch branded the forward 'a top player' that a number of teams in Europe could have moved for in the window

New Blues boss Enzo Maresca has a host of wide options to choose from in his bloated squad

Speaking on TNT Sports, Crouch was asked to name his top three signings of the summer window, and replied: 'Pedro Neto from Wolves to Chelsea, I think he's a top player.

'I think many in Europe would have signed him and Chelsea have got a top one there along with many others, but I think he's a top signing.'

Neto made the move to the capital after five years with Wolves, initially joining for £16million from Lazio and going onto make 135 appearances, scoring 14 goals.

The Portugal international added to the host of wingers at the Blues' disposal, which also now includes Jadon Sancho, who signed on a season-long loan with an obligation to buy from Manchester United on deadline day.

Mykhailo Mudryk, Noni Madueke and Christopher Nkunku are among the club's other wide options.

Picking out the other two signings in his top three, Crouch referenced Max Kilman of West Ham and Dominic Solanke of Tottenham.

Kilman also left Wolves, joining up with former manager Julen Lopetegui in a £40m move, while Solanke departed Bournemouth for £65m.

Crouch also picked out West Ham's Max Kilman (left) and Tottenham's Dominic Solanke (right)

'Max Kilman at West Ham is a top signing,' Crouch added. 'Very solid.

'I think he's shown in the first few games that he brings the ball out, retains the ball really well, top player.

'And I think Dominic Solanke at Tottenham, only because I don't think they replaced Harry Kane since he left as the focal point.

'I think they've got enough ability in and around it but a No.9 at Spurs, once he gets over his injury, I think he'll score and do the business.'
