Arsenal returned to the top of the Premier League table as the Gunners claimed a deserved win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge thanks to a Gabriel tap-in.
The visitors were the better team throughout but had to wait until past the hour mark to take the lead. They came on strong in the second half and the pressure finally paid off when Chelsea failed to deal with Bukayo Saka's low in-swinging corner.
Cesar Azpilicueta's clearance kicked only air as it bounced into the six-yard box and Gabriel was the one able to react quickest to lift it into the roof of the net and give his side a lead they'd never relinquish.
Gabriel was key at the other end of the pitch too, as he provided a rock-solid foundation at centre-back alongside William Saliba that limited Chelsea to very few chances.
Graham Potter's side struggled to get a foothold in the game and only fired off five shots all afternoon, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang particularly anonymous as he had just eight touches in his time on the pitch.
Aside from the goal, the best chance of the game went to Gabriel Jesus.
In the first half, Gabriel Martinelli drove from the left flank towards the penalty area before lifting a ball through to Jesus, who timed his run perfectly to create a one-on-one header with Edouard Mendy.
But the ball was agonisingly out of reach of his dive and he couldn't direct it towards goal - although Arsenal had 14 shots only two of them were on target.
The result means Chelsea have lost six of their previous seven games against Arsenal. That's a run stretching all the way back to 2019, and their last win in the fixture at Stamford Bridge was in August 2018.
The Blues remain seventh in the table, behind Potter's former side Brighton, and are three points behind the Champions League places.
But for Arsenal, they are back on top of the Premier League and the dream of a first tile since 2004 remains alive.
