Coming into this Saturday, Chelsea had failed to win any of their previous six matches and had lost their last three, so they desperately needed a win against Leeds United, and they got it.
That was a big boost to Graham Potter, even if it was just a 1-0 victory against the relegation-threatened side.
It was a very open game at the start, with the best chances falling to Chelsea and with Kai Havertz drawing a good save from Illan Meslier.
The crossbar then prevented Joao Felix from scoring his second goal since joining the London club on loan, as his effort bounced back off the woodwork in the 22nd minute, before there was another chance for Ben Chilwell.
Chelsea end their run without a goal
Chelsea's main problem has been in attack, which is quite incredible considering the amount of money they have spent.
It was their 80m euro centre-back Wesley Fofana who broke the deadlock and who ended a run of 397 minutes without a Chelsea goal.
After taking the lead, the Blues found it hard to control the game. Apart from a Raheem Sterling shot that went wide in the 63rd minute, it was Leeds who looked more likely scoring the next goal.
There were chances for the Americans Tyler Adams and Weston McKennie, but Chelsea were able to hold on for a crucial win.
