Five games later, Chelsea returned to winning ways (6-2) in their visit to Wolves to cut a terrifying streak that had been dragging on since 2019.
A completely crazy match that Madueke was responsible for blowing up in the second half with a controversial hat-trick after the 2-2 with which the match went to the locker room. Joao Felix closed the 'set' in his debut as 'blue'.
Wow! 🤯

Enzo Maresca's @ChelseaFC get their first win of the season, as Noni Madueke scores his first Premier League hat-trick 🔥#TheKickOff | #WOLCHE pic.twitter.com/s24ZMCCbPZ
Maresca adjusted several pieces with respect to the opening game against Manchester City (Enzo at the base; Palmer in midfield; Madueke and Mudryk on the wing) and it quickly began to pay off.
In the first action of the match, Jose Sa turned a Madueke shot behind for a corner, which eventually led to the fastest goal of the season so far. It came from Nico Jakson, who headed in unmarked in the second after Cunha's flick.
The goal came much sooner for Chelsea than the play.
This was evident from the moment Wolves put the ball back into play. The game called for a pause and they gambled everything on an exchange of blows that they ended up paying for before the 30' mark.

The Larsen-Cunha duo, two former LaLiga players, were being a complete nuisance. The Brazilian had two chances, including a disallowed goal, but he made no mistake on the third occasion and scored at will after a pass from the Norwegian after Caicedo had lost his way. Spectacular Ait Nouri leading the counter starting from the side.
Chelsea were completely out of sorts, as well as out of shape, and saw Cunha again have another goalbound effort hit the crossbar.
Wolves were buying it. But, when they were at their best, they failed to keep a watchful eye on a free-kick and Palmer made up a goal when Jose Sa's false start was blocked. Credit to Robert Sanchez, who produced a sensational delivery.
Too much of a prize for a Chelsea team that still could not take the lead at halftime.
And when Darren England was about to signal the way to the locker room, Gary O'Neal's team designed a laboratory play to make it 2-2. Ait Nouri crossed, Toti unloaded and Larsen finished off to score his first goal in England.
Madueke's controversial hat-trick
If the first half had had a clear tinge of madness, the start of the second was no less so. Once again Madueke had the first. But, this time, he was able to beat a Jose Sa who was misled by Ait Nouri's deflection. But that was not all, as he scored twice in the 58th minute and in the 63rd minute to seal the match. Hat-trick for the Englishman, who continues to vindicate himself. All three, moreover, on a pass from Palmer.
It was a tricky business, as from the opening whistle he had to listen to the sound of wind after a controversial post he published last night on his Instagram account that read "Everything in this place is shit", referring to the city of Wolverhampton.
He quickly deleted it. But, in every celebration, he did not hesitate to challenge the stand.

Wolves melted like a sugar cube. The scenario for Chelsea was ideal and, a few days after landing at the Bridge, Enzo Maresca gave Joao Felix the opportunity to make his debut as a 'blue'. He came on in the 66th minute, replacing Nico Jackson to act as a false '9'... and completed the 'set' in the 80th minute. He put it in the corner of the net as if it were nothing.
Despite the difference in the score, the match continued to heat up until the final whistle. Caicedo even had to leave his place to Dwesbury-Hall after a very hard tackle... minutes before Darren England disallowed Mario Lemina's volley from the edge of the box.
In the end, the score remained unchanged and Chelsea ended their poor run of form at The Molineux with a fine win, which, even so, does not put the ghosts of the first half to rest. It was a difficult debut for Joao Felix to improve.
