Mohamed Salah insists he is in the final year of his time at Liverpool FC as the Egyptian forward reveals negotiations to keep him at Anfield have stalled, despite him being the Premier League club's star player.
With 20 goals and 17 assists in just 26 games under the guiding hand of their new coach, Arne Slot, many would have expected retaining the services of the 32-year-old winger would be priority number one for Fenway Sports Group.
However, with his deal expiring in July 2025, it seems as though they are inevitably heading for a heart-breaking split eight years after he swapped Roma and Italy for the England's most successful club.
Fans are biting their fingernails regarding the future of the current Premier League top scorer, who helped the club win their first league title since 1990, but it seems as though neither man nor front office are willing to budge on their demands.

Now into the January transfer window and a free agent in six months' time, Salah can now sign a pre-agreement to join a club outside of England and he seems to have all-but-confirmed his time as a red is coming to a close.
"The first thing that was on the list was to win the Premier League with Liverpool," Salah told Sky Sports. "It's probably because we didn't celebrate the one we won in the way we wanted.
"And also, coming back here too, it's my last year in the club so you want to do something special for the city. That was the thing in my head."
Salah went on to add of his future: "So far, yes. It's the last six months. There is no progress there. We are far away from any progress. So, we just need to wait and see."
Who do Liverpool play next?
Liverpool currently lead the Premier League table by six points ahead of Arsenal, although they have played one fewer game than Mikel Arteta's pursuing London side. They also lead Manchester City, the defending champions, by 14 points through 18 games too.
Liverpool will next take on their nemesis, Manchester United, at Anfield on Sunday, January 5. The game will kick-off at 11:30 ET/08:30 PT for American audiences.
United are currently 14th with 22 points and dangerously close to the relegation battle halfway through the season.
