Manchester City's British record 117 million euro purchase of Jack Grealish has sparked a lot of debate regarding Financial Fair Play this summer, yet Pep Guardiola has once responded in a clear and emphatic fashion to those criticising the club.

The Premier League champions have been condemned for big spending in recent years, as have Chelsea and Manchester United, but their Catalan head coach does not see an issue.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp pointed to those rules on Friday, provoking an interesting response from Guardiola.

"We have bought Grealish because we have sold for 60 million [pounds], so in the end we have only spent 40 million [pounds], otherwise we can't do it," Guardiola explained in his pre-match press conference.

"Every owner of every club decides what he wants. Our owners want to be in this world, they want to be buying into football. What is the problem?

"We have limits because of FFP, we are on the same page like everyone. After that each club decides what they want to do.

"Every season we have passed the controls that are there for everyone. If we are wrong, prove it."
