Chelsea have a new manager in Liam Rosenior, and in a fit of optimism have signed him to a contract until 2032, that is, for the next six and a half seasons. It is a strange length of time for a coach... and even more so for a Chelsea coach, who have had ten occupants of the bench in ten years and has become a crusher of names that seemed experienced and prepared for the challenge.

The London club welcomed him in a statement: "Rosenior arrives at Stamford Bridge after coaching abroad with RC Strasbourg, where he led the French club to European qualification for the first time in 19 years in his first season, and after previous roles in England with Hull City and Derby County. On his move to the Premier League, he said: 'I feel extremely honoured and grateful to be appointed head coach of Chelsea Football Club. This is a club with a unique spirit and a proud track record of trophies'."

From the B team to the first team

Rosenior had been in charge of Strasbourg, also a BlueCo conglomerate team, like Chelsea, so this signing can be considered a 'promotion' from the subsidiary to the first team of the company.

The new Blues boss has presented himself to the fans promising hard work: "I believe deeply in teamwork, unity, solidarity and teamwork, and those values will be the foundation of everything we do.
