Pep Guardiola has made his penultimate press conference appearance before welcoming Real Madrid to the Etihad Stadium for the second leg of the Champions League semi-final.
Manchester City will look to go again after the 1-1 draw they earned at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu. Ahead of the continental tie, City will look to tighten their grip on the Premier League title with four games to go. They are one point ahead of Arsenal... with a game in hand and will face Everton.
The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich coach touched on a number of topics, but without focusing too much on the Real Madrid game.
"I don't understand it, but I have to adapt. I'm not going to fight any more. The schedule is what it is," Guardiola explained in his pre-match press conference.
"I'm sure the Premier League wants to help the teams. The problem is the schedule, the number of games there are.
"I think we cannot play on Saturday because there is Eurovision and there are not enough police to handle two important events at the same time."
When pushed on his annoyance, Guardiola was asked whether he felt LaLiga Santander are more helpful to their teams than the English top-flight.
"There are a lot of competitions, there are a lot of games in all the calendars. That's the problem, I don't think the problem is LaLiga or the Premier League," he declared.
"In Germany or France, they play on Friday and we have to play when they tell us, that's not going to change.
"Now we have five days after only four days. Tomorrow we will see the team, we will talk to the physios and the coaching staff and we will decide. We have a lot of games to play."
City have had a long season, with the club eyeing winning a treble that Manchester United achieved back in 1999.
With this in mind, Guardiola believes his team to have more than enough energy in reserve to fight for all the titles on offer.
"Winning helps you to be better. If you get the mentality back you are in a good position," he concluded.
"I always believe that the human body has incredible resources to keep going. When you think you're exhausted and you can't go on, you can.
"We're going to play, for sure, until June 3, but we have to deserve to win a game to play one more week. We've got six games, seven potential games, it's not too much, we can handle it."
