Real Madrid 0-0 Cadiz: Los Blancos grip on top spot loosens after draw

Real Madrid's 10 game winning run came to an end on Sunday as they were held to a surprise 0-0 draw by Cadiz. 

Madrid had nine shots on target and 36 in total but they could not beat Jeremias Ledesma in the Cadiz goal at the Santiago Bernabeu. 

In contrast, Cadiz didn't even manage a shot on target all night but they defended admirably to claim a memorable point in the Spanish capital. 

Madrid's lead at the top, therefore, has been cut from eight points to six after second-placed Sevilla beat Atletico Madrid 2-1 on Sunday. 

Sevilla have a game in hand, too, and could cut the gap to three points if they beat Barcelona at the Sanchez Pizjuan on Tuesday. 

Cadiz remain 19th and in the relegation zone but they are only one point from safety and this result will give them confidence moving forward.
