Atletico Madrid won this league thanks to Luis Suarez’s huge contribution. He finished as their top scorer with 21 goals and netted the one that won them the trophy against Real Valladolid.
Suarez broke into tears when speaking to Movistar after the game.
“Many things to through your head, after the situation I had to live through, how they undervalued me,” said Suarez. “Atletico opened their doors. For that, I’m always going to be grateful to this great club, for believing in me. I remember my wife, my children, who have suffered with me day to day.”
Luis Suarez wanted to prove everyone wrong again and he did.
